Welp. We now have a Jewess in charge of how you’re going to read the Bible, and what it’s going to say.
Yes. You read that right. A Jew will now be in charge of “editing” your Bible. Folks, if you don’t have a Douay-Rheims and you’re relying on some Modernist version of Scripture, you’d better sit up and pay attention.

So what is this Catholic Biblical Association and how much actual power do they wield? Well, first, the CBA is not an official authority in the Church. They are not assembled by the Church, do not answer to the Bishops or Church hierarchy, and are not a Church-sanctioned organization. Th CBA was started in the 1930s as a group of academics to study the Bible. Initially, membership was only around 30 scholars, but now there are 1200 members, many of whom are not Catholic. Despite this, they hold enormous influence with the Church and have been tapped by the USCCB to assist with updating the New Testament in the NAB – the New American Bible. This new revision will be used by the Catholic Church in the U.S. for catechesis, prayer, and liturgy.
And now, the CAB puts a Jewess in charge. If you think I’m overreacting, consider from the above linked article this quote: “She has written and edited widely-read works including The Misunderstood Jew, The Bible With and Without Jesus and The Jewish Annotated New Testament. In 2019, she became the first Jewish scholar to teach the New Testament at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome…”. The “Jewish Annotated New Testament”; hmmm. I’m sure all passages considered “anti-Semitic” were scrubbed. Here’s another juicy bit: “She also wants the association to confront anti-Jewish interpretations of Christian Scripture and help ensure that contemporary biblical research reaches priests, teachers and homilists.” “Many clergy members, she argued, continue to rely on commentaries acquired during their seminary education decades ago rather than newer research on the Jewish contexts of Jesus, the Pharisees and the Gospels.”
This lady is going to edit the Holy Scriptures and spin the teachings of the Church fathers to suppress what the Church has, for millennia, taught about the Jewish Question. Remember this already happened in the Protestant world with the Scofield Bible.

If you have children, I suggest getting as many copies of the Bible as you can. My personal preference is the Haydock Douay-Rheims.
***UPDATE***
It’s come to my attention that some feel this organization will be chastised by the bishops, especially for the use of the word “Catholic” in their name.
You must understand that many in the Church hierarchy are friendly to the Jews, wish to squash anything deemed antisemitic, and have actively suppressed what the Church taught regarding the JQ prior to Vatican 2. Here is Archbishop Sample of Portland, Oregon, urging Catholics to “reject antisemitism”

Do you really think these bishops won’t collaborate with the CBA??
