It came to my attention that yesterday, the 4th Sunday after Pentecost, another diocesan Latin Mass has been suppressed.
Bishop Joseph Andrew Williams of the diocese of Camden, NJ, has not renewed the indult to continue the Latin Mass being offered at St Gianna Beretta Molla parish in Northfield, New Jersey. Fr. Anthony Manupella is retiring, so that was the reason cited by the Bishop, but also, Fr Manupella was chastised by the chancery for publicizing the noon Latin Mass on the parish website site and in the bulletin. Apparently, he had been instructed by the diocese to NOT promote the TLM he was offering, a passive discouragement of attendance. Can you fathom such a notion: a diocese instructing a pastor to manipulate & discourage the faithful from attending the Mass of the ages? Keeping the public offering of the Holy Sacrifice a secret?? Have these bishops not read the Gospel from yesterday about casting down their nets to be fishers of men?
The SSPX will likely be excommunicated later this summer, including, it appears, the lay faithful, not just the Society’s hierarchy. The diocesan Latin Masses have been nearly exterminated, and there is no reason to think the former Ecclesia Dei communities won’t be targeted next. The persecution of the Faith continues from within. The antichurch continues to unmask itself and those who hold the Faith will be eventually driven underground. In many cases, an argument can be made that that has already happened.
Please pray the rosary everyday, for I think a time will come when that’s all we have left except for a few recusant priests offering sacraments in an “undergoing railroad” fashion.
