I received an email alerting me that, due to the super scary measles “outbreak” in Pennsylvania, physicians are advising families to turbo-vaccinate their children with the MMR. Allow me to explain.
The current vaccine schedule for MMR is one dose ages 12-15 months and a second dose at ages 4-6 years.
However, in Pennsylvania, pediatric primary care providers are emailing families and encouraging a modified schedule with the first dose at ages 6-11 months! And any child who has not received a second dose at 12 months or older is eligible immediately!
This is OUTRAGEOUS! If you are fearful of measles, I’d suggest cod liver oil and vitamin A, not a supercharged vaccine schedule. Then again, I can’t give you medical advice so use your own discernment. And remember: twenty years ago the autism rate was 1 in 110 children. Today it is 1 in 31.
