In case you missed it, I highlighted a ballot measure in West Virginia that would amend the state constitution and prevent medically assisted dying (aka euthanasia) from ever being ratified in the state.
For some extremely puzzling reason, I could find zero reportage on this proposal in any Catholic media outlet. My understanding is that the West Virginia bishops spoke about it locally, but no one, including Life Site News, made mention it despite copious coverage of various abortion referenda happening all over the U.S.
I did pursue the pro-euthanasia websites. Their advocacy groups were VERY aware of the ballot measure, but Catholics and Pro Life, Inc were strangely absent. I have no explanation for this.
At any rate, my readers here in this little teeny tiny space were aware, so I thought I’d provide an update of how things turned out.
Sadly, it’s still too close to call. Less than 6,000 votes separate the citizens of West Virginia from a darkness that has already infected Canada and is currently threatening the U.K. I’ll update again once a definitive outcome is reached. But in the meantime please pray for scales to fall from the eyes of the public at large. This issue is a huge battle in the war with the culture of death.
As I’ve mentioned, a pro-euthanasia movie is set to be released on CHRISTMAS DAY, and the assisted suicide advocacy groups are working behind the scenes to gain huge momentum for their big push. The vote in West Virginia is just the beginning.
