In previous episodes of the Barnhardt podcast, I’ve mentioned the Weston A. Price foundation as a source for decent nutritional information. However, I want to clarify something: the Weston A. Price foundation served a big purpose in my life, which was to allow me to connect to farmers who supply meat raised with the cleanest and highest standards. But that’s all the Weston A Price foundation is good for. I will not promote them in any way, and if anyone took my mentions of them as a greenlight to support their work, I apologize. Just like the work of Dr. Mercola, there may be helpful nuggets of truth mixed in with New Age rubbish. And the Weston A. Price foundation is a prime example of that.
I will not support nor promote them because of their strict adherence to, involvement in, and promotion of homeopathy.
I know many traditional Catholics have found themselves wrapped up in the homeopathy cult, but I have avoided it since I first was introduced in 2010 and it smelled off to me. Way off. After doing some investigating, I discovered the roots of homeopathy are based on the occult writings Samuel Hahnemann, a Freemason and enemy of the Church. I pushed the topic aside and decided to never involve myself in the use of homeopathic remedies (this was before I was a “trad”). After becoming a traditional Catholic & abandoning the Novus Ordo, I was confronted once again by homeopathy, this time by faithful, traditional Catholic women aiming to avoid abortion-tainted Big Pharma.
While I support the shunning of Big Pharma, I will not run straight into the arms of the occult in order to do so. Hahnemann was tied to eastern mysticism and believed his potions had special powers – that “like cures like” and diluted substances, diluted to the point that none of the origin substance remained, could heal. Just a cursor examination of his writings is all it takes to know that his practices originated from a very dark place.
I acknowledge that much of mainstream modern medicine is broken, driven by profits, dangerous, and has undesirable side effects. I also acknowledge that not all of modern medicine has been tainted by evil. There are still great drugs out there that truly have saved lives & alleviated suffering. First and foremost, I am a proponent of good nutrition and natural remedies. Please note: homeopathy is NOT synonymous with “home remedy”. The terms are NOT interchangeable and home remedies based on vitamins, nutritional supplements, plants, etc are NOT what I’m referring to here. Again, we are talking about the practice of Samuel Hahnemann.
If you’re looking for good natural remedies to whatever ails you then I strongly suggest you consult the writings of St. Hildegard and avoid the quackery of occult potions.
