I’m not a big fan of “democracy” and I happen to think that most elections are fixed. If you think the “election” of 2020 was “stolen” then by default you’d have to agree that it’s a rigged system. So, generally speaking, I don’t advocate even getting involved in the game.
But once in a while something pops up regarding elections that gets my attention. The November 2024 vote in West Virginia on a state constitutional amendment to ban euthanasia is one such example. I can rationalize this seeming hypocrisy by saying that voting on those types of referenda, even if it’s rigged, still gets one on the record supporting a pro-life cause in the Eyes of God.
Again, I can’t advocate involving oneself in the voting spectacle, and I sure as hell don’t buy the lesser of two evils schtick that got trad Catholics out to vote for a guy who wants taxpayer-funded IVF. However, on March 3, the Texas Republican primary ballot will include 10 propositions for registered Republicans to voice their opinion on issues they would like the GOP to support.
I’ll repeat: I’m not telling anyone to get behind certain candidates, vote for the lesser of two evils, or even engage in the spectacle of a rigged system. But if you’re a registered Republican in Texas and you feeling like trolling the GOP, there are 3 propositions that might be worthy of your time:

Who can argue with those?
p.s. Proposition 10 reads “Texas should prohibit Sharia law” 😎
